TELOS COMPLIANCE

Welcome to Telos Compliance, a service offered by the successful UK management consultancy, Telos Solutions.

We deliver an expert mortgage compliance service for mortgage people by mortgage people. Our activities include: We help intermediaries carry out remedial action required by the FSA on past sales, and provide advice on how to avoid such action in future. We also help new entrants to the UK mortgage market understand the regulatory requirement and assist the process of gaining a Part IV Permission as well as helping existing regulated firms in changing their permissions.

Regulation of mortgages and general insurance by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) started in 2004/2005 and it is in 2008 that the extent of the standard of adherence to these regulations is being discovered. The FSA are contacting every Mortgage Adviser and Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) firm over a rolling three year period to assess how they have been treating their customers.

Many firms will pass with flying colours but some may have to take remedial action for their systems and controls, conduct past business reviews and even redress customers financially.

The Telos Compliance service has been set up to to help these firms and has recruited the most experienced mortgage and general insurance resources in the UK market. The quality of the experience of these individuals is marked by the fact that they have direct contact and influence with the regulator itself.

Specific services include: The FSA, under Section 166 of the FSMA (2000), can oblige a firm to take on a Skilled Person. There are very few recognised mortgage and general insurance Skilled Persons in the market, yet Telos is well placed to supply this resource. Our expertise has helped to shape the definition of what a mortgage Skilled Person should be.

Telos can help firms both large and small in every financial services sector and has the scalable resources through partnership to service clients anywhere in the UK.

This site covers all aspects of remediation and redress connected with alleged mortgage misselling and has many useful links to external sites providing even more information on this topic.
